Description:
Golf in Hurlingham
The Hurlingham Club is one of the founder members of
the Argentine Golf Association. It was established at the end of the
nineteenth century by a group of Englishmen. Before long it became one
of the most important clubs in Argentina. The Golf course was
inaugurated in 1893; it is worth mentioning that this is the only
course among the oldest golf courses in the country that still stands
in its original location. All a long the course, where the Abierto de
la Republica ( the Argentine Open) took place many times, there are
impressive old trees, which separate the golf course from the tennis
courts, the cricket and the polo fields. The greens are well defended
by bunkers and narrow approaches; They are very fast and rather hard to
read.
